NBC “Last Comic Standing” Aida Rodriguez
We avoid watching TV, listening to the radio and following much of what is printed in the media. Therefore, when we received the notice that we would be interviewing Aida Rodriguez from “Last Comic Standing,” we began digging.
First, we had to find out who this Aida person was. Next, we had to see what “Last Comic” was. Being involved in this industry, we keep ourselves in our own creative bubble, but we ensure that we prepare properly for every project and piece that we agree to do. In doing our research, the first thing that struck us about Aida was that she is a Miami native.
Next, we discovered that Aida was previously married to a NFL football player. From here, we noticed a few things that Aida has in common with our CEO/On-Air TV Host/Executive Producer, Jonathan Aldridge. Our CEO/Celebrity Host, Jonathan Aldridge, is a few years older than Aida and used to play professional baseball prior to his entertainment empire. Once we went to the NBC Last Comic Standing website, we immediately became a fan of the project. How could you not?
Since the “Cosby show,” our CEO, Jonathan Aldridge only follows one TV Program, “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” It appears as though “Last Comic Standing” has several of the stars from “Curb” involved in “Last Comic,” one word = Genius. Assembling a project like this with the “Curb” cast lead us to uncover who the producers of this intriguing NBC project were. Wanda Sykes and Page Hurtwitz. Ok NBC, you have our attention. We approve Last Comic! We began promoting our Aida Rodriguez interview on Twitter and Instagram. We must applaud Aida as she has perfecto marketing as most of her links are “Funny Aida.” Another Genius, maybe it’s her college degree…
We had an early morning interview with Funny Aida and as our staff awoke, they discovered that Funny Aida followed us on Instagram and Tweeted about us. We will just say that 24 hours ago, we had no idea who Aida Rodriguez was or what Last Comic Standing was all about, but what we will say is that in the past 24 hours, we rate NBC (GE/RCA/NBC Universal) as one of the most professional companies that we have EVER worked with.
We filmed with the NBC/GE theme park Wet n’ Wild several years ago in Orlando, FL and Wet n’ Wild marketing staff was very……..um, we’ll leave it at that. Back to the topic at hand, after interviewing Funny Aida yesterday, we became immediate fans of hers. Our CEO/On-Air TV Host Jonathan Aldridge has previously personally interviewed Donald Trump, Christina Milian, Venus Williams, Burt Reynolds and over 100 A list celebrities, however, Aida Rodriguez is one of the most down-to-earth, “REAL” people that we have ever conducted an interview with.
As for NBC, we were recently in communications with Adam Stotsky and Alexandra Devlin from Esquire in an effort to do a deal since Jonathan Aldridge is the hottest On-Air Television Host in America. Both Adam Stotsky and Alexandra Devlin were unkind and sort of rude to our staff. On the contrary, the entire staff of “Last Comic Standing” has been First Class A+ all the way. It will be our pleasure to bring you our exclusive interview with one of the hottest female minority comics and in our opinion, one of the most down to earth professionals in the entertainment business….Aida Rodriguez aka “Funny Aida” and NBC, THANK YOU for being a light in a very dark industry!
In conclusion, we were so impressed with Funny Aida, we found ourselves tweeting away all day to support Last Comic. We were elated to see how Funny Aida, Page Hurwitz and Roseanne Barr supported us on Twitter. THANKS LADIES!
Funny Aida is a top 5 semifinalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” out of 1000 comics.
